April 1-Spiritual Warfare in the Waiting Room
During our long wait in San Francisco, Rachel brought out the guitar, Brian the Ukelele and we began to worship the Lord together. Partway through our Worship, I noticed two men walk by with interesting shirts on. Their shirts were black with the words "Seducer, Accuser, Destroyer" written in red on the back. I couldn't quite read the rest initially, but later read the last line which said "A new face to fear". The fronts of their shirts had a picture of a lamb on it and said "Find me"...
Very Interesting, I thought, and as they came and sat near me I thought to myself that either their shirts were a very interesting witnessing attempt or on the opposite spectrum may be satanic? After sitting near us for just a few minutes, one of the two turned towards us and said three times "Jesus Sucks". It was not loud, but I had been watching them, so I picked up on it and shared it with the team.
A couple people on the team began to feel the spiritual oppression and darkness in the atmosphere, and Julie and a few others began to take authority over the place. In addition to taking authority, we also prayed for the men, recognizing that Christ had died for them too. We prayed that God would reveal his love to them, set them free from the "seducer, accuser and destroyer" and from deception...
After awhile, we ceased playing and singing, but Sunni, determined not to quit until they left, picked up the Ukelele and continued singing and playing quietly. Prior to playing the Ukelele, Sunni's heart was filled with fear, but as she played, her heart was filled with love for them. After she'd played for a while, Deb noticed the men get up in a huff and leave.
We didn't see these men again until on the plane to Germany. When Deb saw one of them in line to use the restroom, she tapped me and asked me to pray with her, so we began to pray God's love on this man again.
As we remember this, we pray again for these men and others like them that are bound by the enemy... Satan is the "Seducer, Accuser, Destroyer", but Christ came to set captives free and through HIM, we have peace, joy, hope, love, and everlasting life! We give praise to God who gave us victory over the enemy through Jesus Christ!
